Life without a claim is proving no problem for Callum Rodriguez, who won the inaugural running of the Listed Al Maktoum Cup Arran Scottish Fillies' Sprint Stakes on Intense Romance.

Last year's Ebor-winning jockey is now on a level playing field with the best jockeys around, but he showed the temperament required for big occasions with a well-judged ride on the prolific Michael Dods-trained winner.

"I rode my first winner without a claim here yesterday and it's nice to get a victory at that level," said Rodriguez, who partners Get Knotted for Dods in the William Hill Ayr Gold Cup.
