In-form Bass strikes again with Listed success aboard Bannixtown Glory

Everything David Bass has touched has turned to gold in the last few months, and he saved some of his finest work for Kempton after delivering Bannixtown Glory to win the 3m½f Listed Mares' Hurdle.

The jockey, who struck on Saturday with Imperial Aura in the Grade 2 1965 Chase at Ascot, opted to make the running with Bannixtown Glory before driving her out to win by a length and three quarters.

"Nobody wanted to make the running so I decided to make it a test," said Bass, who declined to give his ride a rating out of ten when asked by Racing TV's Rishi Persad. "She won in great style. She's only small but she's got a great attitude and winged the last."
