Improving Muffri'Ha has Good Friday target
Muffri'Ha laid down an early marker for Good Friday's All-Weather Championships when defying a 5lb Group 3 penalty in great style in the first of the winter's 24 fast track qualifiers.
April's 32Red Fillies & Mares will require a drop back in distance of a furlong from yesterday's 1m Listed race, but Maureen Haggas, wife of trainer William, does not anticipate that being a problem. She is currently 7-1 with Coral.
After Pat Cosgrave had made most and brought Muffri'Ha home a length and three-quarters clear of Aljuljalah to complete a double initiated by the same owner's Across Dubai in a division of the 7f maiden, she said: "That was a good performance. She's just improved and improved and it's great that the owner [Sheikh Juma Dalmook Al Maktoum] kept faith in her. We always thought she might win a Listed race, but she has exceeded our expectations.
