Kew Gardens fulfilled the potential of recent starts to land a solid renewal of the William Hill St Leger, improving his Racing Post Rating to 121 with a convincing defeat of the unexposed Lah Ti Dar.

In giving 3lb to the favourite, with the pair four and a half lengths clear of the third in a well-stretched field, Kew Gardens looks to have performed to a level at least in line with the better recent winners of the final Classic.

Third-placed stablemate Southern France was given a bigger beating then when the pair finished 1-2 in the Queen's Vase, while Kew Gardens also extended Grand Prix de Paris superiority over Dee Ex Bee, which underlines the improvement he has shown since Royal Ascot.
