The Berkshire Novices' Chase, which features Cheltenham Gold Cup heroes Denman, Bobs Worth and Coneygree on its honours board, went to the bruising Caribean Boy, who emerged as a dark horse for significant prizes.

Nicky Henderson took advantage of the six-year-old's novice chase status being extended until the end of the month because of the coronavirus pandemic and was registering his eighth victory in the Ladbrokes-backed Grade 2, which dual King George ace Clan Des Obeaux also won.

"He's a gross, gross horse and getting him fit isn't an easy job," said the champion trainer deflecting credit to groom Lewis Morgan.
