Sumos Novios pulled out plenty to see off the persistent challenge of odds-on favourite Mala Beach by two-and-a-half lengths. It was all the more noteworthy as his trainer had doubted his stamina after his win in a 2m6f veteran's handicap chase at Wexford two weeks ago.
