'I'm absolutely over the moon' - part-owner Gary Wood ends ten-year drought with victory at his local track

After a decade of trying, part-owner Gary Wood was finally rewarded with his first winner at Redcar when Front Gunner landed the 7f handicap.
"I'm absolutely over the moon. I have been trying to have a winner at Redcar for ten years and eventually got there," Wood told Racing TV.
Costing £45,000 as a two-year-old, Front Gunner took some time to break his maiden, finally earning a first win on his 12th start at Newcastle last year.
On his most recent outing the Ann Duffield-trained four-year-old disappointed in last of eight runners at Carlisle, but he was sent off 11-4 favourite after support from 11-1 in the morning and duly bounced back to form under David Nolan.
The rider grabbed the far rail and took full advantage to see off the challenge of Oscar's Sister by a short head.
Local businessman Wood, who sponsors at the racecourse, added: "He's had a couple of brilliant rides at the front and David got him out in front. David kept it straightforward and gave him a cracking ride."
Hart treble
Jason Hart landed a double at Wetherby on Thursday and the in-form rider went one better by riding a treble.
He steered We've Got This first past the post in the 7f handicap for Ivan Furtado, then landed the feature mile handicap on Marhaba Ghaiyyath for Charlie Johnston, and rounded it off with victory on Hot Dancer in the 1m2f handicap for Johnston. All three were short-priced favourites.
