'I'll take my time with her' - Dunlop to play patient game with Red Treasure
Wednesday: Southwell
Ed Dunlop believes patience is key for his filly Red Treasure, who recorded her first career victory at the third attempt in the 6f juvenile novice on the card.
The daughter of Muhaarar finished a length and a quarter clear of She's Centimental to get off the mark, and Dunlop feels there is more to come.
He said: "She did well first time out at Windsor, but didn't quite take to Brighton.
"I think she'll stay further and we'll step her up in trip eventually, but we're not in a rush. She's a weak, immature filly and she'll improve with age.
"I'll take my time with her and see how she comes out of the race – we might have one more race for her later in the year."
More to come
Newmarket trainer Martin Smith has high hopes All About Alice can showcase her potential after striking in the 1m3f classified stakes.
Although the three-year-old has found it tough since her last win at Wolverhampton in January, Smith is confident of more success in the future.
He said: "She looked that good when she won her last race in January, but she went quite weak and we struggled with her a little bit.
"We ran her in a Class 3 at Chester last time because it was money for nothing really and it was nice to get a run into her.
"She's from a family of horses that don't usually win until they're four, so I'd like to still think there's plenty to come from her."
