It would have been the perfect Ladbrokes St Leger prep race had it not been for a couple of gusts of wind – and even Aidan O'Brien cannot control the weather.

The rogue breezes blew before the Betway Great Voltigeur Stakes and lifted two Royal Crown Derby plates off the presentation table, sending them crashing to the ground.

It was no surprise the course should have replacements for the prizes due to be give to the winning jockey and trainer – and no surprise it was O'Brien and Seamie Heffernan who ended up receiving the commemorative crockery.
