'I think we can build on today' - Jeremy Scott and Lorcan Williams back in the winner's enclosure, plus a Golden Ace update

Jeremy Scott: enjoyed another victory with Elusiveness at Taunton
Jeremy Scott: enjoyed another victory with Elusiveness at Taunton

Champion Hurdle-winning duo Lorcan Williams and Jeremy Scott enjoyed an easy winner when Elusiveness bolted up in the 3m mares' handicap hurdle.

The pair enjoyed their finest moment at the Cheltenham Festival with Golden Ace, and Elusiveness did her best impression of her illustrious stablemate in trouncing eight rivals by three lengths and more on the bridle.

The six-year-old was operating at a considerably lower level, however, and it was her first success in ten starts.

The win took Scott's strike-rate in the last fortnight to 50 per cent, with the trainer having only saddled two other runners within that timeframe.

"It's been a long time and we were beginning to wonder what we had to do to make her win," he said of Elusiveness. "I think the better ground and headgear helped with her jumping and probably it wasn't a very good race.

"I think we can build on today. She's big enough to jump a fence and there are plenty of races she could run in."

On his stable star, Scott added: "Golden Ace has come out of Cheltenham really well. Punchestown is still quite a long way off, but hopefully all will be good."

1-5 Fasol denied

There was a surprise in the opening 2m½f novice hurdle as the 1-5 favourite Fasol came unstuck at the hands of Dance And Glance

The five-year-old was winning for the first time since undergoing wind surgery and gave his rider Rex Dingle the first leg of a double, completed by Mr Zee in the 2m½f handicap hurdle.
