Jockey Declan Queally jnr was confident he would win on whichever of his father’s runners he got to ride in the 3m novice hurdle – and he duly took the honours.

Trainer Declan Queally fielded two of the four runners in the race and his son was on board 7-2 shot Tackletommywoowoo after 7lb claimer Michael Kenneally opted for 13-8 favourite St Lawrence’s Well.

Victory went to the lesser-fancied Tackletommywoowoo, who travelled strongly and powered clear to win impressively by 15 lengths, with the favourite trailing in second.

The winning jockey told Racing TV: "I just said to my father that I'd ride either of them and I knew I'd win on either of them, as I know them so well. I left it up to Michael to pick.

"It probably wasn't the strongest race on paper but he's done it nicely."

Jaadil flies home

Jaadil ran out a decisive winner in the 2m2½f handicap hurdle to break her maiden in style for trainer David Fitzgerald.

The four-year-old was having her tenth start over hurdles and was sent off at 9-2 after a noteworthy second at Navan on her previous run.

Jaadil didn’t disappoint under Sam Ewing, producing a commanding front-running performance. She established a clear lead two from home and extended her advantage to eight and a half lengths at the line, with Onefortheditch finishing second.

Ewing said: "It was fairly plain sailing. She quickened up from the last and she gets this trip really well.

"She kicked clear last time at Navan and I thought it would take a good one to beat me, which it did on the day. As long as the going wasn’t too soft, I was confident she'd go close here.

"She loves her jumping. She wings hurdles nearly everywhere."
