Hurricane Rita not blowing hard with two wins for Dore after wind surgery

Hurricane Rita is reaping the benefits of wind surgery as the mare made it two wins inside a week with a nine-length success in the 2m1f handicap chase at Stratford.

The nine-year-old was following up a similarly easy victory over fences at Southwell six days earlier, and trainer Conor Dore is hoping her victories are a sign of his fortunes changing for the better.

Dore's tally of winners has tumbled in the last two seasons but he is on the recovery trail, and said: "The last couple of years have been a nightmare. For ten or eleven years I was averaging 20 plus winners with 14 or 15 horses.
