Championship-chasing Jim Crowley rode a crucial double to maintain his lead of two winners over Silvestre de Sousa, who also bagged a pair at Ripon.

The score is 118-116 following Crowley's wins on Fleabiscuit in the juvenile fillies' maiden and Harry Hurricane in the 5f handicap. "They're two nice horses," said the jockey. "On that horse [Harry Hurricane] everything went right, we got a lovely tow into the race. He's always promised to win a big race and the blinkers were a big help to him."
