On a Classic afternoon when the Curragh results were largely predictable, it might have been easier to get Aidan O'Brien or John Magnier off the fence ahead of Sunday's box office All-Ireland hurling final than it would be to get a clear handle on who goes where from the elite contingent of Ballydoyle fillies.

Magnier, a Cork man by birth whose empire is ensconced deep in Tipperary territory, kicked for touch when asked by RTE television's Brian Gleeson who he would be shouting for when the two traditional hurling behemoths clash in Croke Park on Sunday.

"I'll tell you after," he deadpanned. "It depends who I am talking to!"
