Odds-on favourite Antonia De Vega made the most of a significant drop in class in the Listed Pontefract Castle Fillies' Stakes, but not without giving her backers an almighty fright.

Last seen in action finishing a close fourth in a German Group 1 in November, Antonia De Vega held a big advantage on ratings and was sent off a warm order at 5-6 for her seasonal return.

However, the Ralph Beckett-trained filly seemed in trouble a long way from home in the 1m4f contest, with jockey Harry Bentley sending out distress signals.
