On family fun day Tom Dascombe kept the prize-money for the £37,000 feature in-house after saddling Hillbilly Boy to land the race his stable sponsored.

The Listed Manor House Stables Queensferry Stakes featured Group 3 winners Eastern Impact – last year’s winner – and Danzeno but it was a lesser light stepping up from claiming company who shone brightest.

The decision to bypass the Qatar Stewards’ Cup paid dividends when the Macguire’s Bloodstock-owned six-year-old chalked up his third course victory on the bounce.
