Last season, Highly Prized was considered good enough for a crack at the Betfair Hurdle, and the early signs for this campaign are the seven-year-old can do battle in some decent races.

Trained by Emma Lavelle, Highly Prized finished down the field in the Betfair Hurdle at Newbury, but that came off the back of winning three of his first four starts for the yard having joined from America.

He returned to the winner's enclosure in fine style, taking the 2m handicap hurdle by an eased-down four lengths under Adam Wedge.
