'He's such a fun horse' - Olly Murphy's Sure Touch makes it four out of five
Wednesday: Chepstow
Sure Touch continued a productive season by winning the opening handicap hurdle and Olly Murphy was full of praise for his "fun servant".
Daire Davis was forced to pull out all the stops on the six-year-old, who rallied gamely after the last to record his fourth win from his last five starts.
"He's such a tough horse," said Murphy. "It's his fourth win of the season already and he's been a great servant – he'll jump a fence in time.
"He's such a fun horse to have about, he's owned by some good people and Daire Davis gave him a great ride. He's learning all the time and improving with every run he has."
Lightly raced for his age, Murphy believes there could be even more to come from the improving son of Yeats.
"He'll keep rolling for now, he'll tell us if he wants a break," he added. "He's in the form of his life right now and we'll find something again for him in three weeks."
Smart winners
There were several eyecatching performances on the card, including Pikar, who kept Graded company last season and readily got off the mark in the first division of the 2m novice hurdle for Dan Skelton.
Ballybreeze failed to score over hurdles but was a smart winner of the 2m novice handicap chase on chasing debut, while Sonigino turned the 2m handicap hurdle into a procession for in-form trainer Paul Nicholls.
Course specialist
Wayfinder bolted up by 39 lengths over course and distance in April and he made it four wins from five starts at Chepstow in the 2m7½f handicap chase.
