He's trained 450 miles away from Perth, but Sir Carnegie's love affair with the track was enough for Mickey Bowen to make the trip.
Sent off the 2-1 favourite for the feature 3m handicap chase, Sir Carnegie made most of the running for a dominant five-length success under Brian Hughes.
The victory extended the six-year-old's record of never finishing outside the first three in four starts at Perth, with two of those ending in success.
Bowen told Racing TV: "He's declared at Sedgefield on Wednesday but I just thought he's such a different horse around here that we'd give it a go and thankfully it paid off.
"Brian was brilliant on him today. He told me there wasn't much going on and asked if we minded riding more positively. I said, 'You're a three-time champion jockey,' so we left it with him."
It was recently announced Bowen will relocate his training operation from Pembrokeshire to Tyre Hill Stables in Worcestershire next season.
He said: "It'll be six hours here instead of ten! It's a long way and we only tend to come up here if we think we've got a serious chance."
The victory also completed a double for Hughes, who had earlier partnered the Patrick Neville-trained Follow Your Luck to success in the 2m4f handicap novice chase.
Elliott strikes again
Gordon Elliott made it three wins from the last four runnings of the 2m novice hurdle when £165,000 buy Cosmos d'Ainay justified 8-15 favouritism under Sean Bowen.
Elliott and Bowen doubled up when Down Around won the 3m handicap hurdle.
