'He's riding out of his skin' - Pauling salutes Woods as success continues
Friday: Worcester
Ben Pauling and Kielan Woods have had a prolific few months and enjoyed another high as the summer jumps season nears its end with Anightinlambourn's dominant victory in the 2m4f mares' handicap chase.
Pauling registered his joint-best tally of 44 wins last campaign and the stable sits just 17 winners behind that total already this season after Anightinlambourn's 11-length success.
"She's not always followed up good performances with another one, so I was delighted to see her do that," said Pauling.
"The new yard seems to be producing a lot of consistency with all the horses, so it's great to see her follow suit – I'll see if there's something a bit more exciting for her last run of the season."
Winning jockey Woods posted a career-best tally of 33 winners last season and has already equalled that total with seven months to spare.
"He's riding out of his skin, we're very lucky to have him," Pauling said of his stable jockey. "We also have Luca [Morgan] having the best start to a season he's had.
"Between the two of them, I feel like we have every base covered heading into the winter – they're just going to get better and better as they gel with the horses."
Double delight
Found On completed a four-timer in the 2m7f novice chase and Martin Keighley and Sean Bowen doubled up when Spanish Press struck in the 2m4f maiden hurdle.
Donald McCain and Brian Hughes also enjoyed a double courtesy of runaway successes by Presentandcounting in the 2m4f novice handicap hurdle and Finisk River in the 2m4f handicap hurdle.
