Arizona Blaze earned a quote of 16-1 from Coral for the Commonwealth Cup after never seeing another rival in the Group 3 Prix Sigy at Chantilly.

Physically of a different scope and size to most of his nine rivals, last season's Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf Sprint runner-up bounced into an early lead under Amo Racing's retained jockey David Egan and, after reeling off three consecutive sub-11-second furlongs, was comfortably on top of Estepona at the line in a blistering time of 1min 01.62sec for five and a half furlongs.

"For a two-year-old who was very busy and had a lot of runs, he's impressive physically and has done really well over the winter," said Egan. "I think with the two runs early in the season, he was ready for today.

"I loved the way he finished off his race and after the winning post I ended up right at the end of the gallop and had quite a struggle pulling him up. So, on a flat five and a half furlongs he stayed the distance really well. He'll probably be aimed for the Commonwealth Cup and he's got a lot of natural speed."

Trainer Adrian Murray confirmed the main target for Arizona Blaze would be at Royal Ascot, adding: "We thought this race might fit his schedule. Originally we had planned to go down the Guineas route with him and we ran him over seven at Leopardstown where he probably told us at that stage he wasn't going to stay a mile.

"He might take in a Group 2 at Haydock first, but his main target is the Commonwealth Cup at Royal Ascot. That's the 12th race of his career and he improves with every run."
