'He's a dude of a horse, a star' - George Baker pays tribute to Wokingham flyer Get It

The sensationally speedy Get It added the Wokingham to his impressive CV after holding on to win Royal Ascot's oldest handicap for George Baker.
He sprang a 40-1 surprise in the Stewards' Cup at Glorious Goodwood last year and broke Blue Point's Ascot's course record over six furlongs on his seasonal comeback, but he was forgotten about in the betting at 28-1.
Seamie Heffernan replaced the banned Pat Cosgrave but tactics were simple for the rapid seven-year-old, who blasted away from the stalls and was never caught. The 3-1 favourite More Thunder finished within a head and it may have been a different story had Tom Marquand not got his whip caught in his reins.
Baker said: "We had a magical day in August at Goodwood and to have another one on this stage is pretty cool. Seamie has given him an absolute peach.
"He has basically given him a Pat Cosgrave ride, which is just let him roll, and he will come back to you. Then let him go again, and he did that. It's a long way home, that final furlong, but what a thrill.
“We bought him relatively cheaply at the horses-in-training sale a couple of years ago. He has won in Racing League, Bahrain, a Stewards’ Cup, and the Wokingham. He's a dude of a horse and credit to everyone involved. He's been a star.”
Baker was an enjoying a landmark winner having relocated to Epsom earlier this season. It was his first Royal Ascot winner since Belgium Bill in the 2013 Royal Hunt Cup, while Heffernan was landing his first victory since 2019.
The trainer added: "This is massive for us, Downs House and hopefully huge for Epsom. If we can do just a little bit to get that place up and running as a training centre. If we can all do something special at Epsom; it's just round the corner from London; it should happen.”
Balding completes super Saturday with Quai De Bethune
Andrew Balding completed a double on the day and made it four winners for the week at Royal Ascot when Quai De Bethune landed the Golden Gates Handicap.
But it took the photo-finish to show that Oisin Murphy's mount had caught Seraph Gabriel on the line and the jockey was making his way up the walkway when he was announced as the winner and had to turn back for an interview with ITV Racing.
"The cameraman usually knows because they can watch the replay closely and the camera never came off the Ralph Beckett-trained horse [Seraph Gabriel]," said Murphy, who had not fancied his chance during the race either.

"He had a bad draw," the jockey said. "Rossa Ryan and I were second-last and last throughout. He didn't really travel. They all slowed down in the straight. The lads at home have done a great job with him."
It was Murphy's fifth winner at the meeting and he said: "It's as well as I could have done. Thanks to everyone who's supported me."
Part-owner Gary Gillies was delighted an offer had been turned down for the winner on the eve of the race .
"Last night somebody tried to buy him and we were close," he said. "But we said no. What a feeling! You don't get any better than this. To have a winner here is special."
Moore finishes in style as Sober lands Queen Alexandra
Royal Ascot's top jockey Ryan Moore signed off with a seventh win at the meeting in the Queen Alexandra Stakes on Sober for Willie Mullins.
It was a second winner at this year's meeting for Britain and Ireland's champion jumps trainer after success for the Moore-ridden Ethical Diamond in the Duke of Edinburgh on Friday.
The 4-5 favourite had stamina in abundance in the longest Flat race of the season to keep on by five lengths ahead of the Gordon Elliott-trained Samui.

Mullins said: "I'm delighted. We bought him and he's turned out to be a lot better than we thought he would be; he's improved an awful lot. We'd like to get him qualified for the Melbourne Cup, that's where we'd probably aim for."
He won the meeting's final race in the colours of Oti Racing, who also won Tuesday's opener, the Queen Anne Stakes, with Docklands.
"This is such a thrill," said Oti Racing's chief executive Terry Henderson. "It's the wildest dreams of our partners back in Australia to win these races. It's great to bookend at the greatest meeting in the world. This horse will go to Australia and Docklands will stay in England."
