Scoville made the perfect start to his career when landing the mile novice by two and a half lengths from the 11-10 favourite Vecu under Tom Marquand.

The son of Too Darn Hot, trained by William Haggas, was a 200,000gns purchase at the Tattersalls Book 1 sale in 2023.

Scoville was well positioned in second before taking the lead with a furlong to travel and stretching comfortably clear.

"He was still green but was learning on the job quickly and he did it well," Marquand told Sky Sports Racing. "He's one you'd be looking forward to next time."

Hat-trick hero

Triple Double A recorded a quickfire hat-trick when justifying odds-on favouritism for Hugo Palmer and Oisin Murphy in the mile handicap.

The three-year-old, whose winning sequence began at Redcar two weeks ago, followed up victory at Yarmouth last week when scoring by a length and a half from Dandy Khan.

"He's a son of Mohaather and was a bit immature last season," said Murphy. "It was good placing by Hugo. He'll get a mile and a quarter, and a mile on a sharp, turning track like this was always going to expose his babyish antics, but he's getting it together."

Banks bonanza

Owner Emma Banks, successful with Spicy Marg at Newmarket on Sunday, was back among the winners when The Feminine Urge just held on to win the 5f handicap.

Trained by George Scott, The Feminine Urge led inside the final furlong and repelled Early Release for a neck success.
