Haworth springs a surprise as 1-5 shot trails in fourth

It hasn't been a good week for odds-on shot in northern parts this week. On Tuesday the 1-16 shot Thankyou Stars was only second in a maiden at Hamilton and today Voice Of Truth was beaten at 1-5 in the juvenile maiden won by outsider Haworth.

A well-related filly who had finished second on her debut at Newmarket, the Saeed Bin Suroor-trained favourite had the right credentials to win what looked an ordinary maiden, though she didn't impress many paddock watchers. Partnered by Kevin Stott, she had every chance but was worn down in the closing stages to finish fourth, beaten a length by the 33-1 winner who was ridden by PJ McDonald.
