Martin Harley, who spent the majority of last year riding in Hong Kong and Australia, is hoping to reestablish his name in Britain this year and a new link with the powerful Newmarket stable of John Gosden could be just the ticket.

Champion apprentice in 2011, Harley made the most of lockdown by riding out regularly for Gosden and made no mistake when combining with the trainer to land the 1m2f maiden on Worthily, who earned a quote of 25-1 with Paddy Power for the St Leger after a stylish winning debut.

"The way he picked up was very, very smart," said Harley of the winner, who is closely related to 2007 Leger hero Lucarno. "He was very professional during the race and travelled smoothly.
