Hariboux success sweet for Palmer as trainer eyes end to 'hardest period'

The success of Hariboux in Brighton's 7f novice allowed Classic-winning trainer Hugo Palmer to reflect and open up on the most challenging spell of his career.

Palmer, who won the 2,000 Guineas with Galileo Gold in 2016, saddled 87 winners last year, bettering his totals of 77 and 71 in the previous two seasons.

Hariboux was just his 31st winner this term, but the Newmarket-based trainer is now hitting form and said: "It's great to be on the hot list because we spent a lot of time on the cold list and were a long way from being hot.
