Hard work pays off for remotivated Brown and rejuvenated Educate

How fitting that the longest established sponsored Flat race should fall to Educate – this was a John Smith's Cup victory that was a long time in the brewing.

Patience and hard work were the keys to success for the jockey and the horse, who was having his fourth crack at the race and had gone the best part of three years without a win.
