Success Days booked his place in the Qipco Irish Champion Stakes line-up, weather permitting, by causing an upset in the Royal Whip Stakes at the Curragh yesterday.

A 10-1 shot, the Ken Condon-trained four-year-old made all under Shane Foley and held the sustained challenge of dual Group 1-winner Fascinating Rock by three-quarters of a length with the evens favourite US Army Ranger, the Investec Derby runner-up, two and a quarter lengths back in fourth.

It was a third success at Group 3 level for the winner, who had finished third behind Fascinating Rock and Found in the Group 1 Tattersalls Gold Cup over the same course and distance in May.
