Hundreds of horses are sold at the bloodstock sales each and every year, but Richard Hannon may have found the perfect source for equine talent given the way Denaar trounced his rivals in the 5f novices’ stakes.

Running in Sheikh Joaan Al Thani’s Al Shaqab silks, Denaar was strongly supported in the betting and drew clear of his rivals with the minimum of effort for rider Frankie Dettori.

Dettori enjoyed several similar experiences last year on another son of Acclamation who had been bought at the Tattersalls Craven breeze ups from consignors Horse Park Stud. That horse was Mehmas.
