Grand Roi puts on a show to set up possible Aintree tilt

The Racing Post-sponsored Juvenile Hurdle went the way of the heavily backed Grand Roi who justified odds of 1-2 to set up a possible tilt at Aintree.

Nicky Henderson's latest winner had been under consideration for the JCB Triumph Hurdle but connections opted to miss the race even before his 13-length romp under Nico de Boinville.

Anthony Bromley, racing manager to winning owners Million In Mind, said: "Grand Roi is going the right way but he won't be running at Cheltenham as we took him out of his engagements the other day.
