A year after One For Arthur gave trainer Lucinda Russell and jockey Derek Fox a famous win in the Grand National, the pair combined to land another good winner on the big day at Aintree.

It wasn't quite in the same league but Grand Morning, who completed a hat-trick by winning the 2m6f £20,000 sunbets.co.uk Novice Handicap Hurdle Final, could one day prove a National prospect as he looks every inch a chaser.

The son of Midnight Legend will need to brush up his jumping as he was far from fluent early. However, showing the patience that won him the National, Fox allowed the JP McManus-owned six-year-old time to find his rhythm and brought him through in the straight to win going away by two and three-quarter lengths.
