Daily Bulletin was cut to 25-1 (from 33) by Paddy Power for the Betfred Cambridgeshire after finally confirming the promise of his smart homework in the £28,000 feature on Countryside Day.

The Godolphin-owned three-year-old has always shown trainer John Gosden plenty in the mornings but not so much in the afternoons until this three-length romp under Robert Havlin.

Connections may now consider another crack on turf at Newmarket on September 24 and a 6lb penalty would put Daily Bulletin on the fringes of making the cut for the Cambridgeshire, for which the race sponsor stayed put at 33-1. It is a race Gosden has won three times previously, most recently with Tazeez in 2008.
