Conditional jockey Charlotte Jones had to settle for second place on Lough Kent in the women riders' race but scored a joyous victory in the £27,000 2m6f handicap hurdle.

She was trusted with the ride on top-weight Altruism, one of the stars in Jimmy Moffatt's local yard, in the hope that her claim could help the trainer gain a long-sought-after success in the race and she rose to the challenge by leading from the first flight, judging things perfectly in front and coming home an eight-length winner.
