The Jeremy Scott-trained Gonnabegood was beaten a short head last time out at the track but made amends with a gritty success over Tea Time Fred in the 2m7f handicap hurdle.

Prominent throughout, the seven-year-old seemed to revel in the testing conditions and came home under Matt Griffiths with one and a quarter lengths to spare.

The Free Spirits Partnership-owned gelding has now won two of his three starts this term and Scott confirmed the step back up in trip helped his charge.
