Gold Cup contender Minella Indo makes no mistake and adds spice to Savills Chase
The Savills Chase is shaping up to be quite something. Last year's winner Delta Work is going there, so too could Samcro. Presenting Percy has it pencilled into his diary, Nicky Henderson is keen to bring RSA winner Champ over for it, and Willie Mullins is sure to have a few put aside too.
It is where Minella Indo is heading next as well, according to Henry de Bromhead, after the seven-year-old's stroll around Navan in the Grade 2 BetVictor Make Your Best Bet Chase – a new race in the calendar for second-season novices following the postponement of the Irish spring festivals this year.
Minella Indo was 2-11 so anything other than a straightforward success would have been a surprise and he did exactly what he was supposed to do, giving the last plenty of light and easing to a seven-and-a-half-length win over Brahma Bull. We will find out a lot more at Leopardstown on December 28.
