Godolphin's Victory Wave looks a useful prospect as she hacks up on her debut

Four-year-old filly Victory Wave was Saeed Bin Suroor's first runner here since 2015, but she looked ideally suited by the Fibresand surface and produced an impressive debut win under Oisin Murphy.

An American-bred who runs in the Godolphin colours, she won in the style of a useful filly. She opened up at 8-13, but then drifted badly and was sent off at 11-8.

However, this was one occasion the betting got it badly wrong as she hacked up. Always travelling well under Oisin Murphy, she powered clear in the last quarter mile to win by six lengths from another newcomer Burgonet.
