Furzig brings up second double century for Fahey on final day

Richard Fahey made it to 200 with just one runner to spare when Furzig, the second of his three runners on the last day of the year, took the 7f median auction novice.

It was the second time Fahey has reached the milestone, and although some way short of his 2015 best he is only the second trainer to make it in 2017 after Mark Johnston, a regular double century-maker and the only other trainer to break 200 since 2014.

Tony Hamilton rode Furzig, and he took plenty of satisfaction from it, even though his personal tally from the 200 this time has been only 37, following 66 in 2016 and 82 the year before.
