One trainer not wanting the curtain to come down on the turf season is Clive Cox after he equalled his previous best career total of winners in a calendar year when Foxcatcher made the most of a good opportunity to get her name on the scoreboard with success in the 5f juvenile maiden.

The trainer said: “Equalling last year’s best total of winners with a few weeks left of the season is great but we have won over £1.5m in prize-money and that would be more if the foreign money counted, so all in all it’s been a great year.”

Cox is still wearing a smile after My Dream Boat finished a very encouraging fourth in the Group 1 Qipco Champion Stakes at Ascot on Saturday and he is already thinking in terms of next season for the four-year-old, who runs in the colours of Paul and Clare Rooney.
