Flat ace Graham Lee records 1,001st jumps win under Summer Lightening

Although now riding full-time on the Flat, Graham Lee still takes the occasional mount in bumpers and the Ken Slack-trained newcomer Summer Lightening proved to be his 1,001st jumping winner in Britain.

Lee wondered if it had actually brought up the 1,000, saying: "I've thought I've done it plenty of times before, so I'm not really sure."

Lee, however, had already made it to four figures, a tot up of his winners over jumps in Britain on racingpost.com showing that the 1,000 came on the Mick Channon-trained Buildmeupbuttercup in a bumper at Warwick in November.
