First try over hurdles is a winning one for well-bred recruit to Max Comley's yard at Sedgefield

Only One Blue made the perfect start for trainer Max Comley when landing the 2m1f juvenile maiden hurdle on her stable debut.
Favourite Scarlett Moon looked to have matters under control rounding the final bend, but was joined in the straight by Arctic Voyage and Only One Blue, the trio jumping the last together.
It became a duel between the latter pair, with the winner, under Tom Broughton, staying on strongest to prevail.
“I thought she was good on the whole,” said Comley about the daughter of Blue Point, who ran on the Flat for Richard Hannon. “She was understandably a bit green and Tom gave her a lovely ride.
“We needed a good jump at the last and she responded with her best and winged it, which probably won her the race. She’s out of a very good mare [Missunited] who was a thorough stayer and a good jumper, so the pedigree was bang there for what she’s done today.”
It was a fifth winner of the season for Comley, who said: “We’re at about a ten per cent strike-rate, which is good, and hopefully that’ll keep improving with some exciting horses for the year ahead.”
Owen strikes in marathon
Ivane ran down odds-on favourite Bumpy Evans to win the 3m5f Durham National under Jonathan Burke.
The market leader opened up a 20-length lead but began to tire in the closing stages, allowing Ivane to close the gap and go past to score by a length and three-quarters.
Trained by James Owen, Ivane was winning for the third time in four starts since the start of September.
