The opening race of Carlisle's Flat season will be remembered for all the wrong reasons by in-running punters after Seyaady became one of the most expensive 1.01 losers in Betfair history.

The Mark Johnston-trained newcomer was sent off at 10-1 for the 5f novice stakes and looked for all the world like he had held off the fast-finishing Ventura Dragon in a three-way photo.

However, the camera angle proved deceptive as the photo revealed the Richard Fahey-trained 5-4 favourite had got up by the width of a cigarette paper - officially a nose - with a further head back to Magic Mark in third.
