Cieren Fallon is set to be crowned champion apprentice jockey for the second year in succession when the Flat season concludes on Saturday and he warmed up for that accolade by notching a double at Redcar.

The son of six-time champion jockey Kieren Fallon claimed his first Group 1 this year aboard Oxted in the July Cup, before being recruited by Qatar Racing in August as their second rider behind Oisin Murphy.

"I’ve had a great year and I’m very grateful for the support of the many owners and trainers I’ve ridden for," Fallon told Racing TV. "It's been a tough year, but a really good one for me personally and is one I’ll remember."
