If you can’t jump, you won’t win and there is no doubting the efficiency of Dan Skelton-trained novices as evidenced once again by the promising Northofthewall in the feature 2m4f beginners’ chase.

Allmankind, Protektorat and Shan Blue are among the high-profile exemplary jumpers from the Alcester yard and the Winter Gold Racing-owned Northofthewall, who unluckily knuckled on landing when in front at Aintree last month, bounced right back with a bold round on the way to a ten-length triumph.

Winning jockey Harry Skelton heaped praise on former eventing rider Chris King, who plays a pivotal part on the schooling grounds.
