Mr Whipped and Volnay De Thaix feature on the recent roll of honour for the 2m novice hurdle and Nicky Henderson unleashed another useful prospect in Epatante.

The four-year-old filly, owned by JP McManus, was his sole representative and defied rawness to power up the Kempton straight, creating the suspicion we might have seen something out of the ordinary.

Henderson said of the recent purchase: "She was working very well at home and this was a nice start for her to get the ball rolling. Her bumper form looked very good and she did it well today.
