While the sights and sounds of Cartmel can prove a distraction for some horses, 12-year-old Endeavor simply revels in the unique surroundings, as he underlined with a fourth course success in the 2m1½f handicap chase.

The Dianne Sayer-trained stalwart seems to dance round the mile circuit's tight turns in tune with the noise of the fair and he showed great resolve to fend off the rallying Boss Des Mottes in a rousing finish.

Providing the middle leg of a treble for Brian Hughes, Endeavor got up by a head to register an 18th career victory for owner Margaret Coppola.
