Enable extends streak to 12 wins and moves into exalted company

Enable joined an elite club of only three fillies and mares trained in Britain and Ireland to win at least 12 races in successions since 1900 with victory in the Yorkshire Oaks.

The record in that category is held by the great Pretty Polly, who triumphed in the first 15 races of her career, followed by Irish champion Sweet Wall, who won her last 13.

Pretty Polly, perhaps the greatest filly or mare of all time, was the overall champion two-year-old of 1903 and landed the fillies' Triple Crown as well as the Coronation, Nassau and Park Hill Stakes in imperious style in 1904, but suffered a first defeat on her 16th start and her only visit to France.
