Gordon Elliott is enjoying a momentous October and a treble on the card brought his score for the month to 22 victories and his tally for the season to 95, including 21 in Britain.

Death Duty initiated Elliott's three-timer when scoring an eight-length win under Ruby Walsh in the 2m4f maiden hurdle. A dual bumper winner last season, the five-year-old was making his debut over hurdles and was cut to 16-1 (from 20) by Paddy Power for the Albert Bartlett Novices Hurdle.
