Brian Meehan was sad to see the end of the summer season on the July course after his Windfast blew away the opposition in the Listed Hopeful Stakes.

The reformed sprinter was dropping back to six furlongs for the first time since his his juvenile days and he dominated under Richard Kingscote.

Meehan, who was completing a double after Kitaaby had prevailed in the 7f handicap, also had a winner at the track on Friday. He said of Windfast: "We seem to do well here and I have to put my hands up as we have been getting the trip wrong with this fellow.
