Dream win for England cricketers as Elysium wins Tattersalls pot

The Tattersalls Book 1 and Book 2 sales races may be no more on the Rowley Mile but the Book 3 race is still going strong and as usual resembled a Cambridgeshire for youngsters as the 28-strong field spread wide across the track.

This year's winner Elysium Dream is owned by the Racing Cricketers which include England stars Eoin Morgan, Stuart Broad and Jimmy Anderson who were bowled over by a first prize of over £91,000 – which was topped up by a £30,000 bonus – all from a filly that cost just 22,000 guineas.

Winning trainer Richard Hannon said of the Tom Marquand-ridden winner: "I think scrapping the Book 1 and 2 races in favour of this bonus scheme is a great idea as it spreads it around.
