A Wincanton meeting would not be the same without a Paul Nicholls-trained winner and the ten-time champion trainer got off the mark with the useful Capeland in the feature 2m novice handicap chase.

A course winner over 2m4f last time out, the step down in trip proved no hindrance to the Kathy Stuart-owned gelding, who has finished in the first two on his last six starts.

Railroad Junkie set a strong pace in the three-runner race, with Capeland settled in second but Harry Cobden allowed the 8-11 favourite to stride on up the home straight and he comfortably kept Peppay Le Pugh at bay by a length and a quarter.
